Seed Cycling for Our Hormones
Follicular Phase begins day 1 of your cycle and runs until ovulation. During this time Estrogen is on the rise. This phase lasts for approximately 14 days.
Days 1-14: Take 1-2 Tbsp of ground flax seed (helps bind to and carry out excess estrogen) and 1-2 Tbsp of pumpkin seeds (provide zinc and magnesium to body which support progesterone production for the next phase).
Luteal Phase begins when ovulation occurs and lasts until the first day of your cycle. This is also approximately 14 days. During this time Progesterone is on the rise while Estrogen slowly declines.
Days 15-28: Take 1-2 Tbsp of sunflower seeds (rich in Vitamin E which supports progesterone production) and 1-2 Tbsp of sesame seeds (rich in zinc which supports formation of the corpus luteum and for progesterone production).
If a woman is experiencing amenorrhea, follow the phases of the moon starting with the new moon or full moon as day 1 of the cycle.
If a woman’s cycle is less or more than 28 days, you can continue to take the seeds in the same 14 day rotation to help gently nudge the cycle into an optimal rhythm.
