Labrador and Rosehip Tea

I am incredibly grateful to be able to pick these two amazing ingredients right from my backyard and around our family cabin.

Labrador tea is rich in flavonoids and polyphenols, fights oxidative stress, protects cells, and promotes skin health. It helps relieve joint/muscle pain, respiratory issues (coughs, colds), and skin inflammation. It can help support liver function, detoxification, digestion, and reduces bloating. And it may even improve insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar – so there is lots to love with this fragrant gift from the land.

Rosehips have a special place in my heart. My mother-in-law would share her stories of eating the “itchy bum” berries when she was little (a.k.a – don’t eat the seeds of this berry or it won’t be fun on the other end). But she would recall playing with her sisters and running freely, picking the berries and spitting out the seeds, enjoying the juicy insides.

Rosehips form on the rose bush after the petals have dropped offering an abundance of antioxidants like flavonoids and carotenoids and Vitamin C to support immune health and boost our skin’s collagen.

I enjoy adding these to an organic licorice or peppermint cup of steaming tea for the added benefits the provide to the body.

Ingredients :

Add 1 Tbsp of dried Labrador plant and 1 Tbsp of dried rosehips either directly into your already boiled water, in a tea bag or loose tea holder. I use approximately 1.5 to 2 cups of water.

Steep for 5-10 mins and remove from the water.

Add a tsp of honey if you wish for a sweetened taste.

Enjoy your tea and all the benefits it brings to you!
